Saving and using .TRK Files Help: About .TRK files: You can spot a .trk file on the DL page by it's size. They
are much smaller than a stand alone fully working .pod file because they don't
contain all the textures, models, wheels, etc you need to make it work. Most .trk files are based on in-game stock trucks, which
you have, but some are not. If you find ANY author uploading .trk files for already modified non-stock vehicles and NOT expressly saying what real truck you need in the Review Description to use it, report the Review Link url to the staff via the Contact form so the listing can be modified or deleted, because there is nothing worse than getting something useless even if it is free. Saving .TRK Truck
files If you don't get a "File Save" option and just a lot of text in a new browser window like this...
...then your browser is treating the file as a web page. Two Choices Now: You can either simply copy the text on the web page screen with Edit/Select All, open notepad, paste the text in and save it as a .trk file in the \truck directory, in this case, a new text file called DDWT.TRK, or go about it the long way if you are a noob... Long Way: Click the File Save As.. option.
You get a Save Web Page screen.
Now navigate to your evo2\truck directory.
When you hit enter to rename the file extension, windows will warn you that something could go wrong.
Well, Duhhh!!!.... Yes we want to change it. We would have been much happier just getting a download box to save the .trk file where it needs to go in one step, but there you have it. Just remember that .trk files are simply "skins" that can only modify an
existing vehicle you have. How can you tell if it is a plain .trk, .trk in a .zip, or a .pod in a .zip? Authors, take note...
