At first I thought that calling this device a PC was kind of a stretch...

I've had it a few months now and it keeps on amazing me so I'll take that back!

So far Im using it for a wider range of stuff than any other device I've ever had.

Some of the programs and such:
AVG Antivirus PRO for protection, backup and othe security.
Google Maps combined with built in GPS for navigation in the car.
Google My Tracks combined with built in GPS and Google earth for foot/bike/ski hikes.
A couple other maps for foot hikes as well.
Some built in reader for excel, and word files when navigating sewer systems.
(Got to find a better app for that some day)
Adobe reader 11.1 for pdf files.

Gmail app for...well..Gmail
Android web browser for regular mail and web browsing.
Built in pen for making scetches

Google Cloud Print for printing.

Team Viwer for controlling computers and servers.

Skype for calling (hmm..forgot my password so I havent tried that one yet)

SwitfKey X Keybord (for typing stuff..)

Barcode Scanner

XClinometer (bubble level)
YouTube app

YR.no Weather app

Google Crome to Phone for transferring contents

HTC Sync manager for syncing contacts on pad/phone/PC's

Games
Riptide GP
Asphal66: Adrenaline HD
Reckless Racing HD
Raging Thunder 2 HD
World of Goo ..heh..
Teeter 3d
Crawl 4x4 Lite

These are the most used ones and I'll hopefully update this list a litte.

Lots of goodies to carry around with you.
So, how well does it work as a phone?
My wife has a fancy phone and I can't even make a call with the frigg'n thing with my thumbs.

Google Cloud Print for printing
I am confused, this apps title seems like a oxymoron. What the heck does it do?

One thing is for sure KC. None of those smart phones are even capable of performing at a connection quality that was required from your telephone 30 years ago.

LoL.. drops a pin...

The fairly new expression "Cloud Computing" is getting more awesome.

Latest addition to the apps list is Pocket Cloud.
This is a client much like Team Viewer but with a few differences.

It can use rdp connections and a couple other protocols.
It can also connect to computers via Google Accounts.

(Google feels a bit scary at times but you cant beat it so join it)

Once you get used to navigating the small screen it rocks to have
this level of access everywhere specially for dudes like me that travels a lot at work.

Example:
I need to mail a file from the computer in my office.
I simply log on to the desktop when sitting in my car or in a resturant.

Then I browse to the file in windows explorer, open it in the required program and do any changes on the pc and mail it from there.

If I have a modern tv or monitor with a HDMI input I dont need to use the 7" screen either.

Got the HDMI adapter and cable yesterday and tried a couple games on my 46" tv.

This rocked big time too :)

kool. has anyone seen windows 8 yet?
i saw someone with a developmental copy the other day. the stupid OS looks like it was made for a tablet. aside from that, when you get to the desktop it looks like Vista, yuck!

anyway did you install your own OS on the tablet balth? or does it use the default OS that came with it?

i've heard of people installing android onto their nook's.

It had Google Android 2.2 on it.
Then i updated it to Android 3.something (Honeycomb)

And i can tell you this: Getting me to move from windows to Android on my cell phone was no easy task.
Tried learning old dogs new tricks?

Same thing goes for moving from laptop to pad.

Still, its the best moves I've done in the tech world.

Proper PC with Windows, phone and pad with Anroid is a winning combo in my book.

I loath the 'Cloud' term for things we have been doing for years but that is marketing for you.

Agreed, but in this case clever marketing seems to be needed.

Anyway, GoodBye Deer Pad!

My boss was in some kind of amazing mood the other day.
He told me to pick a new pad for myself so he could grab mine.
This is naturally based on his ability to ask me for everything
about the "old" pad.

It has been a Great Ride!

Youll hear about the new pad soon, like it or not
