Cool.
I have an old 17" Dell that still works for my secondary (left) monitor and the old 21" Optiquest for the main.
Is that your main now, or secondary?
Or are you just running one monitor?

Well, I orderd a 19" widescreen lcd. I went for a cheaper one that had better response time and contrast than the samsung I was looking at. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8240977&st=lt191&type=product&id=1168044601734

That looks like a fine deal.
I wonder how a full screen game will look on it?

Since you can set the size in most games I guess it depends on that.
My question is will a game like say Flatout 2 that can support widescreen strecthes the regular image or actually gives you more game view.

The monitor will probably take 2-3 weeks to get here. Some games that support widescreen resolutions actually give you more view, others just stretch it.

I just went to Sams club and bought a Samsung 940BW 19" widescreen lcd for $200. It's great, deep blacks, great colors too.

So you'll be running 2 LCD's when the ordered one arrives? Or did you cancel that order?

You know you could place the LCD on top of your 19" CRT and just tilt it down.
Windows doesn't care where you place monitors, just move it on top of the Dell in Video Properties.
I ran 3 monitors at one time stacked like a pyramid so the mouse pointer could move from any screen to another.

Meh, I cancled it after I found the MAG only had 600:1 contrast and 12ms response time. It had trouble with banding too.

Ya, 12ms would have killed ya.
Need 8 or better to about 4ms, anything faster than that is just a scam.

This one is great, there is a little backlight bleed at the top but it's not bad.

Well.... I took that monitor back and got a refund. It was working fine then during motion grey "clouds" would roll across the screen. Then it wouldn't display certian colors like red.

Well this sucks, my video card died. I suspect the cooling fan failed, and it then it fried.

Yeah, and I'm tight on cash.... I might buy a DX10 card, then I'll be set for a few years.

It seems I have to choices within my price range. XFX 7600GS: http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/navigate.do?catg=535&item=361807&prDeTab=1&pCatg=5815#A
VisionTEK x1650:http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp;jsessionid=4OTI3BOARN2L5KC4D3GFAGI?skuId=8211286&type=product&id=1166235562616
I'm more intrested in the 7600GS because of the lifetime warrenty, the x1650 has more ram, but it's only DDR1.

Reminds me of way back when one part of installing a hard drive was finding the spots and marking bad tracks. I don't miss those days at all! LOL
