No, it is the computer I built for video editing and reporting at work.
I'll try to fill in more details and take a proper picture some day.

Nice box, my benchmark is better... only because you have a slower processor.

I do not think the PcWizard benchmark is intended to test video related performance.

I tried to stress my system to see what point recording (realtime, 1080i, 5.1, native)would need to drop frames. I used the PcWizard's benchmark test as a hammer to see what it did to the video side.

Turned out that capturing live HD video at 1080i and 5.1 audio with native quality to the HD (6-10 gigs per hour) did not get hammered. And recording only knocked 200 points off the benchmark score.

I expected the benchmard test to make the recording totally wipe out and wanted to see how bad. But it was fine and never even dropped a frame either so the benchmark test could not have been placing much of a load on whats needed for my video side.

Why it came out like that is beond me. But my best guess is the video cards hardware is dong all the work.

It would also explain why my CPU is free when recording and playing video like this trailer.

A better test of system resourses vs video is 3DMark06
I would be cursious to see the difference between a totally idle result vs your running ot with video capture running.

Same for your machine Balth.

KC, Some time back I uploaded the results from my PC totally idle versus when it was recording. There was about a 200 point difference in the Wizzards benchmark results.

When idle the Task manager would show a 1% cpu load on my system.
In the photo below I am watching HDTV 1080i on the TV application and the DVR is capturing it using the "native" quality setting.

I noticed that when I stopped capturing with the DVR it had almost no effect on the task manager. I guess that must be due to AVIVO doing the work and TV on demand would still be recording.

I dont know enough about whats going on to do more than guess here. But it looks like a shure bet to me that that neither the CPU or 3D hardware have much to do with my video these days.

Same thing playing that H.264 video earlier. It had to be the AVIVO hardware because my last PC could not even play the file at 1 fps.

I'm using the Arcos portable media player for capture.
But I'm Amazed by this machine.
Here's what I did the whole day today:
1. Make project folder much like in Evo when making tracks.
2. Collect files like map, movie and pictures in it.
3. Start Adobe Premiere and drop all files onto that.
4. Start WinCan and make a new video report file in said folder.
5. Start Microsoft Photo Draw and edit map and pictures.
6. Start the CD/DVD label/cover program and make a file on that too.
7. Drop video, map and pictures onto the workspace in Adobe and get on with it!
8. Cut, paste, edit, capture screenshots and movie clips, write comments and facts
in and between all those programs without any lags or slowdowns all day long.

When movie file, video report, cover and label were safely stored in the right folder with proper names,
Nero Burning was started Doing the Disk and I started making a new Project folder without closing
any programs or files. I never do.

Im real impressed by the ATI AVIVO part of my PC also. Even though mine is the low end model. Now it seems the capture/record/edit stuff is no more load than any other application on my system.
