Its too bad you guys have all put it down before trying it, it really is a much faster system. All of my apps open faster than running XP. I'm able to start up Firefox or AIM just seconds after booting when I'd normally have to wait a minute or two for everything to start on XP. And I havent found any application compatibility issues, and I doubt I will unless I actually go looking for app's that wont work.
File transfers are faster, USB Operations like Thumb drives are faster as well. And considering that Windows XP 32 bit limited my memory to 3 gigs, now having a 64 bit OS allowing me to use all 4 gigs helps with gaming performance compared to XP as well.
Not to mention it is MUCH nicer looking, and has a lot of fun little gadgets that are useful when dealing with a lot of open windows. This is nothing like Vista, Windows 7 is everything Vista should have been.
You guys with Vista can buy 7 as an upgrade, but I believe it is still 119 dollars for "Home Premium" upgrade. I payed $157 total for the full version.
